How fortunate that Dave, Clint, Polly and Jonesy (Proprietor and Directors) are passionate bikers themselves. This has given them the enthusiasm and understanding to take the greatest care and attention to detail to ensure that your biking experience in Moffat is relaxing and comfortable. They have even gone to the extent of creating 15 fantastic biking routes surrounding the area where you can use the Buccleuch Arms Hotel in Moffat as the perfect warm and welcoming homebase. Hotel history

Dating from 1760 this elegant Georgian Coaching Inn, located on Moffat High Street, retains most of its original features. Most notable is the dramatic hotel facade which contrasts with the predominantly Scottish vernacular architecture on Moffat High Street. The open fireplaces in the public rooms offer our guests a warm and cosy prospect, even on the coldest of Scottish winters. In the hotel bar, the Buccleuch Coat of Arms is yet another reminder of the past and historic links with the Duke of Buccleuch.

The Buccleuch Arms Hotel in Moffat offers 14 comfortable bedrooms, each providing relaxing accommodation in Moffat town centre. The bedrooms are routinely inspected and maintained to ensure your Buccleuch experience is comfortable and hassle free. Each of the en-suite bedrooms is provided with colour television and has tea and coffee making facilities.

You can’t have a better start to the morning before a grand days expedition without our great breakfast selection. Whether it’s a Continental, A La Carte or a good healthy porridge you need to fuel your tank, we have it all. We really do take our Breakfasts seriously, big bike portions of food and big bike portions of welcome await you at the Buccleuch.

This is also a good opportunity to meet up with Margaret, our very special breakfast lady. How she manages to be so full of vigour and enthusiasm so early in the morning remains a mystery.

Motorcycle Garages

Not only can we provide secure off street parking but we have built up a group of motorcycle garages at the back of the hotel (all individually lockable). They have been purposely designed for motorcycles with ample shelf and hanging facilities for your kit. To be honest, Moffat is probably one of the safest places you can be but we know how much you love your pride and joy and at least it will be cosy, warm and dry!

The garages are acquired on a first come first served basis, however if you really really want to make sure you bag one during your visit you can book a garage for a nominal £5 reservation fee. (This can be done via our online booking system or over the phone with our reservations team – subject to availability)
