Nestled beneath the forest and looking out over green fields to the magnificent mountain scenery of Skiddaw and the Helvellyn range, Beckstones Farm Guest House, Thornthwaite, near Keswick is peacefully situated off the beaten track, within a short stroll of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Beckstones offer friendly accommodation in an ideal location for bikers. A few minutes from the A66 in peaceful countryside, we have ample parking obscured from the road by a large hedge. A locked garage is also available. Our Georgian farmhouse offers 4 rooms, 3 en-suite with splendid views and 1 which looks onto the forest and has a private bathroom. All have comfortable beda. We also have a guest lounge with local maps and information. 

Eat well

In our beamed dining room, we serve a hearty breakfast using local produce.Good pub meals are available a pleasant 2 mile walk away in Braithwaite village. (Taxis can be arranged). We are also on a bus route.

Beckstones is situated 400m outside of Thornthwaite, a small village which boasts a gallery with a tea room and a church. The southern shore of Bassenthwaite Lake is a 10 min walk from the house and we are surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna including Red Squirrels and the nearby Osprey nest.

The busy tourist town of keswick is 4 miles away and offers a good variety of pubs, eating places, shops, art galleries, a museum, 2 garages and cash-points.

Tourist attractions include boating and watersports on Derwent Water, Theatre by the Lake, a climbing wall and parks with mini golf, bowls and tennis.
