The Boar's Head

The Boar's Head, Ripley is a beautiful old Coaching Inn. It is part of the Ripley Castle Estate and one of the Great Inns of Britain.

Located in the unique and historic village of Ripley situated three miles north of the Spa town of Harrogate it is ideal to ride and explore the Yorkshire Dales, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Visitors to the Boar's Head can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in luxurious and historic surroundings. Our Bedrooms are individually decorated and the Bistro and Brasserie serve excellent cuisine in lovely surroundings to both residents and non-residents.

Ripley Village is based on a French model village and has unique architecture. The village boasts lots of interesting things to see including quality food shops, a local farm shop, Post Office, florists, where pre-ordered flowers can be purchased, and an Art Gallery.

Guests staying at the Boars Head are invited to enjoy free entry and a guided tour of Ripley Castle (subject to Castle opening times) and you can visit Ripley Castle Gardens as many times as you like during your stay. Ripley Castle and Gardens has been owned by the Ingilby Family for 700 years.

Yorkshire breaks

Come and enjoy all that Yorkshire has to offer with a special Yorkshire Break, taken any day of the week (min two night stay) excluding town conference weeks and Christmas and New Year. Ripley Castle

Right next door is award winning Ripley Castle steeped in 700 years of fascinating history. The village of Ripley is at the head of Nidderdale, part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and biking heaven. It is home to some of Yorkshire's most iconic scenery with its spectacular limestone valleys and picture postcard villages. We have a list of wonderful walks you can take in the area when you're needing a break from the saddle and wanting to stretch those legs.

Harrogate

It is only three miles from the spa town of Harrogate which is renowned for its floral beauty, spa waters, great shopping and includes two world famous tourist attractions - RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and Betty's Tearooms. Harrogate is also often referred to as the antiques centre of the North.

Ripon

In the other direction and only seven miles away is the unspoilt city of Ripon with its imposing 7th century cathedral, fascinating museums and a bustling market square. Close by is Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, Yorkshire's first world heritage site.

Sports

And for those looking for sporting activities, we have close links with several golf courses in the area and there is no better place to enjoy racing action than Ripon which is known as the garden racecourse.
