Linda and Trevor Gawler warmly welcome you to Middle Farm.

Set in North Dorset's Blackmore Vale amidst spectacular countryside with far reaching vistas of the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury, Melbury Beacon and Fontmell Down, Middle Farm is a peaceful retreat away from the stresses of everyday life wonderfully enriched by the hosts’ relaxed and friendly style.

The ground floor accommodation is exceptional; self contained, attractively decorated and furnished for comfort and full of charm and character.

Not only a double en-suite bedroom but the sole use during your stay of the open plan living room with kitchenette and a separate garden room with patio doors opening onto the terrace and garden.

The Gawler family have lived at Middle Farm since 1947, therefore Trevor and Linda have a wealth of local knowledge and will be happy to help you make the most of your stay in this delightful destination, offering advice and suggestions on attractions, restaurants and pubs within easy travelling distance.

However, guests will not have to travel at all to enjoy North Dorset’s renowned walks: Middle Farm's surrounding countryside has mile upon mile of superb motorcycling roads for guests to explore.

Local attractions

As well as being an attractive base for tourists and visitors to the annual Great Steam Fair in Blandford Forum, the Farm is also well situated for those wishing to visit their children who are boarding at the regions many public schools.

 Several award winning restaurants and pubs can be found in the area and Middle Farm is ideally situated for visiting a host of locations and tourist attractions.

Stonehenge

A World Heritage Site – Prehistoric monument of unique importance thought to have been built around 3,100 BC.

Sherborne Castle

Originally built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594, the castle has been the stately home of the Digby family since 1617. ‘Capability’ Brown created the 50-acre lakeside gardens in 1753 featuring magnificent specimen trees, borders and sweeping lawns. 

Longleat House and Safari Park

Home to the 7th Marquis of Bath and one of the best examples of Elizabethan architecture in Britain set within 900 acres of magnificent ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland with a further 8000 acres of woodland, lakes, farmland and famous wildlife park.
