Quick reactions and amazingly calm response from the rider – shame about the bike though.

Bike Prices

17th July 2014 by  in The Dex Files

Are bikes suddenly really expensive? Too expensive? I mean, Ducatis have always been expensive – they’ve chased the luxury-Italian-supercar vibe for as long as I can remember. And BMWs have never been exactly budget-friendly. But after looking at the Diavel, I looked at a few other bikes. And frankly I was shocked. Have you seen  [Read full post…]

No I couldn’t…

16th July 2014 by  in The Dex Files

Just had an idle, out-of-curiosity look at the Diavel on the Ducati website. Base model is 14-grand! The carbon one – like the one I was parked next to yesterday – is £17,000….  And that’s without the Akra pipes and any extra bits. Lovely thing, but too rich for my blood. Dex

Parked next to one of those Ducati Diavels on a site visit yesterday. I’d kind of walked past it without paying much attention to it when I arrived – just as I had when I was last in a Ducati showroom. But when I came back, I stopped and had a proper look. Actually, I  [Read full post…]

What day is it?!

I think I’ve been here a week, but I began asking folk what day it was last Saturday, (it’s Thursday now – I think). That really caught my eye. But the Grand Tourismo version with the big luggage would obviously make more  [Read full post…]

An Oasis

25th May 2014 by  in The Dex Files

One thing I did find good about going into Central London last week: I passed close enough to Croydon to make it worth detouring to the Ducati dealership. It’s in a street with a load of other bike shops – I think they may even be connected to each other some how. There are cheap  [Read full post…]
