Wheelie Good Bike Show

4th August 2013 by  in Charity & Good Causes, Motorcycle Shows & Demo's

From the organisers

“The Wheelie Good Bike Show is to return to Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Gallowayagain on Sunday the 4th of August, 2013 and from now on will become an annual event. Please tell your friends, post it on Facebook, Tweet it, send postcards, do whatever you have to do to get the word out. We need your support.

This show is about you, the biker. It is not about selling things to you (well apart from food and a few other bits and pieces.) It is about having a day out on the bike, meeting fellow bikers, and raising money for charity.  Please let’s show everyone what nice people bikers are and what we can do.”

The morning sunshine seemed to spark a huge wave of late interest in this year’s show, with a huge crowd of bikes turning up at the start point (New Galloway Fire Station) to join the ride-in, led by local ex-racing hero Ian ‘Dalbeattie Destroyer’ Simpson.  The ride-in through the fabulous Galloway Forest Park, along the Queens Way was pleasantly uneventful, with all bikes and riders arriving safely into Newton Stewart around midday, to a welcoming crowd lining the streets.

Marshalls Wanted

We are looking for a small number of motorcyclists to help as marshals both on the ride-in and in town – advanced trained an advantage.

Please contact us to register your interest, thanks.

The biker-friendly endorsed Ken Bridge Hotel and camp site is a short (and utterly fantastic!) ride along the Queens Road away through Galloway Forest park.
