Glorious motorcycling roads aside (of which there are plenty!), there are many other things to do and see in Moffat and surrounding areas, including a number walks, (whether you are a beginner or a real stalwart!).  Golfers will also appreciate the local 18 hole course set in beautiful parkland located just outside the town.

We are pet friendly and welcome small well behaved pets but have restricted this to one room so please contact us for more details.

At the moment we are running a 10% DISCOUNT for those who choose to explore the area for 5 nights or more.

The charming and attractive town of Moffat lies on the river Annan in the heart of the beautiful countryside in the Dumfries & Galloway area. Moffat has won both the Scotland in Bloom and Britain in Bloom competitions several times with their displays on the High Street and station park.

In the 19th century the town was used as a coaching stop and Spa Town. Moffat played a vital part in the wool trade and the statue of the Ram in the Market Place commemorates this part of the town’s heritage: the monument was erected in 1857 in recognition of the town’s agricultural success. The Moffat museum with its three floors of displays provide you a clear picture about the Spa heritage of the town, geology of the region, famous families of the town and its railroad heritage.

The town has a range of independent and specialist shops along the High street and Well Street (an opportunity to buy that special gift). Moffat Woollen Mill has a wide range of classic Scottish knitwear, weaves and gifts and a welcoming coffee shop.

You can enjoy a relaxing time in Moffat’s colourful Station Park with Its attractive floral arch and gardens, enjoy a game of pitch and putt or take a swan shape boat on the lake. Moffat Golf course has 18 holes; located just outside the town it has great views looking down into the town and surrounding area.

Moffat has a wide choice of places to eat from simple fish and chips to Scottish, Indian and Italian restaurants to tantalise your taste buds and suit all pockets. Moffat Toffee Shop – not to be missed if you have a sweet tooth! The distinctive toffee has been made and sold by the Blacklock family for three generations.
