Glenuig Inn

Glenuig Inn, Lochailort combines a traditional highland inn with modern, practical, accommodation setting us apart on Scotlands's West coast. Situated just 35 miles from Fort William in the Scottish Highlands, we're between the Road to the Isles and Ardnamurchan, in some of the most beautiful scenery to be found anywhere in the world.

Outside the Inn door is probably one of the best outdoor playgrounds on the West Coast of Scotland, so bring your boots, bikes and boats to enjoy our stunning location beside the Sound of Arisaig Marine Conservation Area.

We are open All Day, Every Day, Year Round, for B&B accommodation, good home-made food and real ales from 12.00pm to 9.00pm daily.

Sea-kayaking at Glenuig Inn

Fancy something a little different? We offer daily exclusive Sea-kayaking trips direct from Glenuig Inn.

Suitable for beginners to experienced and ideal for families and small groups.

We take out just your group, and do not mix with other bookings - the trip is exclusive to your group / family / couple etc.

Stunning scenery, history and intrigue round every corner, landscapes, seascapes and great escapes, a geologist’s paradise, wildlife that come up to you to say ‘hello’ and a ride on the Jacobite steam train; all from the great base for doing things at Glenuig Inn.

Island hopping?

Travelling by foot ferry from Arisaig marina over to the Small Isles of Eigg, Rum or Muck for the day just has to be on everyone’s itinerary, and you will have a good chance of seeing dolphins and porpoise, whilst even minke whales and basking sharks are known to make appearances.

Abundant wildlife

Pine marten and wildcat can still be found in the area, and unless you visit the Nadurra Centre (formerly the Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre), you really will have to look quite hard, although you can often see otters feeding and at play along the coast and by streams.

There are also golden and white-tailed eagles nesting and flying in several nearby locations, but you are most likely to get a glimpse if you take a cruise on Loch Shiel.

To get even closer to nature, why not try a guided tour with Sea-kayak Arisaig or Rockhopper Sea Kayaking, who will meet you at Glenuig Inn for full or half day trips in Lochs Ailort and Moidart or out into the Sound of Arisaig.
